Our family consist of myself Wendy my husband Steven and our three children whom all equally share our passion for dogs.

My love for dogs started as a small child spending a lot of time on my grandparents farm in Bewcastle Cumbria. On weekends and holidays I would be found outside with the dog a pet lamb in hand . I was never happier than when my grandfather added a new collie pup or 2 to the farm. My early memories of being at Home as a child where animals and dogs as I also inherited this from my late mother Hazel. I watched my mum nurture and rear many orphaned and abandoned animals and for as long as I can remember I’ve done the same and I would not be where I am today if it wasn’t for her.

I bought my first dog when I was 18 years old and that brings me to today and my passion for breeding Labradors and Cocker Spaniels here at Sykehead . Fast forward many years and here we are a five star license qualified breeder having gained my level three ofqual in Breeding, litter socialisation and welfare. We now pride ourselves breeding some of the very best health tested Labradors and Cocker Spaniels in the country.

We have always believed that rearing happy healthy puppies is so important and making sure socialisation and enrichment play a huge part in our puppies lives whilst with us making them ready to explore the world beyond.
